Tsuyokute New Saga - Vol. 7 Ch. 65

I'm getting tired of MC. He acts like an all powerful hero, gets his ass handed to him, then turns it around with some underhanded tactic. Every. Single. Time. There's no character growth.

Time is not on Kai's side. He needs to change what will happen in his future, so everything counts. Just like how he killed the corrupted king before to let his daughter take the throne.

i'm honestly disappointed in MC, i expected him to be able to handle some idiot muscle head. with all your knowledge and skills it should be a challenge but not impossible

@Doomer Its because he's not just some idiot muscle head, of course. MC also isn't as strong as he was in his previous life.

I think the biggest problem right now is how slow the plot is moving for a monthly manga. While the premise and start were good, I think the author just doesn't know how to keep the world expanding and pace of the plot moving at a reasonable pace. I feel like the ambitious timeline really works against the story. It's like the author knows what he wants to do but doesn't know how to do it.

Edit: Another thing that I just thought about is that I'm wondering if the author will factor in things like his previous world knowledge working against him. This could be a pretty big plot point that leads to character development. Especially since the demons were VERY different from what seems to be portrayed so far. His information slowly getting less relevant and less helpful also needs to be considered by the author but it almost seems like he's trying to stall and artificially lengthen the "established time frame " by cramming more events (and increasing chapter count).

@Winzent I'm not sure if there was a pacing problem. The WN (not LN which this is based off of) was only translated to around V2C6 or so; it only really only covered up to the assassination of the king. That was the most solid arc of the entire series and while the other arcs were okay, this demon arc seems forced and is so far very badly executed in my opinion.

@tomisaburo Character growth: a character changing, or growing, over the course of the story. Kail doesn't change. Sure, he's a bit stronger now, but he acts in the same exact way he always has since the 'reset'.

Dirty af. What about all that knowledge? didn't he know about the big guy's countermeasure?

@cor3zone tbf he did fight the demon army before he time traveled. He lost his hometown, lover and a lot of his comrade. The MC probably need a bigger impact in order for his character to develop further or it will probably look forced. The only reason he acted all powerful is to be recognized as hero to gain fame and connection. He himself said that his best friend is 10x more talented than him and the only reason he beat the kingdom general is because he knew the general move based on his past sparring.
