@hisokaisatrap feels like a good time to point out that while shounen-ai is the category on most big manga sites it is also the Japanese word for what is essentially pedophilia (really hope that less manga sites use that word soon)

@Zeesnowflower2002 I think rather than pedophilia, it more directly translates to "boys love." Shounen-ai is usually about highschool students so that's why it has "shounen" or "boy" in it's genre title. It's also not something that is sexual, thought of more as a "pure-love" kind of thing and usually deals with the more emotional area (ex: "oh no I'm gay but I can't let anybody find out bc they could bully me, but I also have this crush on a guy on my class..." etc.) Maybe a kiss or two but if it goes any further than that it usually gets a different tag (like "yaoi"). Correct me if I'm wrong tho.
