The sound effect on the last panel (ピシャリ) is the noise someone makes when, for example, they hit their head on the top edge of the doorway which Ueno-san wouldn't do unless she was wearing leggings that made her legs longer.

@Nojay I would be very surprised if the function of the invention was actually extending the wearer's legs like stilts. It's possible I translated the explanation wrong (the pseudo-science invention explanations usually give me more trouble than almost anything else in a chapter), but I got the impression it was more about warping perception/appearance of the legs.

I'll include the text below in case anyone would like to take a look. I agree the sfx at the end makes a lot more sense if something like that happened, but I'm not too sure. I'll be happy to make edits if new information comes to light!

Yamashita-san makes a point of warning Ueno-san in the last frame they're about to go through a doorway then "ピシャリ". In the manga with Ueno-san herself wearing the leggings they don't appear to make her legs look longer. What if her invention actually makes the wearer's legs longer and hence taller but they don't look taller to others or even themselves?

I'm strangely disappointed that Yamashita did not end up kicking Tanaka, because it sure looked like she was going to. Aside from that, it wasn't entirely clear to me what this chapter was showing, other than the short legs part; like, I couldn't grasp the purpose of the curtains joke.
