I feel so sorry for her because she is trying to assume this image of a dignified lady due to the ridicule and abuse she suffered from and it is hard to become assertive when you are dehumanised and downgraded constantly over a long period of time. She is constantly scared to be throw away or to not be taken seriously and with respect. Riftan will not even negatively comment on her spending because he is convinced that she lived in luxury in her territory and he is completely and utterly in love with her ( there must have been some encounter prior to the wedding and I need that flashback now!). I wonder if he will help speak up against the merchant or she will find in herself the strength to do so. I hope she will soon disclose to Riftan the years of abuse she was victim to because the continuous misunderstanding is draining for everyone involved.

I agree with you, i forgot to mention fanboys since I was so excited for the chap hehe

I do agree that characters like Maxi have their own charm.

I like her

But

I don't quite stan her type..

Maybe its because I've had a similar experience to her irl that I got a bit cold because she was really similar to how I was when I was a child.

Adversaries are always there, if u keep looking down at yourself you will never get better.

But. I do believe Maxi will be more wonderful in the next chaps

Ah yeah, she just came out of an abusive family. Male lead is as tactful as a bull in a china shop and doesn't know how to deal with her. And this is just chapter 13. But some of you complain about how she doesn't have a backbone. If anything I think she's quite strong herself to have endured all those years. And whenever she is insecure or talk herself down, I feel really sad for her and honestly looking forward to her journey to be more confident and happy as spoiled by novel readers. Obviously I don't want all the drama dragged out but changes need the appropriate amount of time and events to show up and shine.
