Urasekai Picnic

First episode of the anime is up on Funimation as of 30 minutes ago: https://www.funimation.com/shows/otherside-picnic/wiggle-waggle-hunting/

Only watched the first half so far, but it's quite good. Matches the manga/LN almost perfectly. Intro wasn't bad either.

THE ANIME IS GARBAGE COMPARED TO THE MANGA , FUCK.IT COULD HAVE BEEN INSANE WELL DONE.

The first episode wasn’t that good compared to the manga but that doesn’t mean the next episode will be the same. Keep watching

@Agavadon That is literally what the series is though? It's a gung-ho sense of adventure, up until the horror starts, then they barely escape alive and throw a party. That's how most of the arcs function.

I would say the abrupt clash of tones is a fundamental aspect of the series, so I don't think the anime is being disingenuous at all, at least in this first episode.

Edit: I actually quite liked that they kept the romance aspect very, very low-key (like it should be this early on). One of things I like about this series is how their feelings slowly evolve from their initial meeting. The romance stuff starts off almost a background detail and slowly evolves into a minor sub-plot
and then evolves into something that intersects heavily with the main plot
, which is great.

Yuri Roadside Picnic? You certainly have my attention.
The first episode of the anime showed promise, aside from the odd and jarring use of CG where it absolutely did not need to be, but at least it was only for mundane shots rather than important ones. It makes me wish the manga hadn't flown under my radar so long, and I look forward to reading it. I hope it lives up to the potential of the Gay Anime Stalkers idea.

the anime adaptation lacks the "suspense" compared to the manga/LN.. but its pretty decent..i still like it..i wanna know how itll go..

is it just me, or does the brown-haired girl on the cover's left eye is off compared to her right?

This shouldn’t be tagged yuri, this is shoujo-ai at the most. And - mann! What a masterpiece! I hate it when amazing series like these pass me by until now.

I know saying this isn't fair to anime or novrl, but manga art is way better than anime's or novel's. (To be fair, novel's art emotions are the best, but overall, manga is still better)

@samadhi_overdrive
Sorry to disappoint you but it got yuri official mark. Therefore it's no point to judge whether it is yuri or yuri baiting. Also, the story is very clear about girls' relationship. And it is gay, a beautiful gay developmen.

OK, after seeing the anime version I think they got most things right except the kune2. I dunno, I think the kune2 isn't "kune kune" enough. It looks like a modern sci-fi CGI alien rather than the freaky pseudo-humanoid it's supposed to be.

For everyone that is discussing the difference between the kunekune in the manga and in the anime, please consider the fact that the anime is solely based on the novel. Think of it as, the people who made the anime never got a look over the manga and came up with their own interpretation of how the events, monsters and some of the characters not precisely described or depicted in an illustration in the novel look and act like.
For example, in episode 2, you will notice
Abarato looks vastly different from the manga.

my least favourite part about the anime isn't the designs or animation, it's the lack of inner thoughts for sorawo which may detriment the series by making her seem like more of an asshole then she already is. Especially the conversation in chapter 14, that requires her thoughts to actually understand why she acts like that
