Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. After all, Ideal is involved with this whole current weapon smuggling situation, right? Or at least I just assumed it was. But anyway, given the position Voja's in right now, it wouldn't be a stretch to figure Ideal took Voja in at that age or something.

Making Voja the brilliant one works quite well since one tier above the "Baku gonna win" principle is the "Souichi definitely gonna win" principle.

Voja is not russian, since the name is south-slavic, russians don't have these kind of names, or it's probably author's mistake anyway. Also, I knew something was up with the church, since the priest was bald and without a beard, Orthodox priests look different lol

That's interesting to know! It is possible that Voja got relocated from his birth country, perhaps through some sort of child trafficking seeing how it is an shady orphanage.

I don't recall anything about Ideal being involved, but it does sound possible given that they're an overseas organization, and the captain seems to be a foreigner. Actually, now that I think about it, I wonder if the diamonds the captain is collecting is related to it? Maybe Ideal likes to collect diamonds given that it's the origin of their group name.
