Usogui - Vol. 43 Ch. 467 - Deserve To Suffer

Im curious if baku is actually saying this to him or just conveying it through expression

Of course he didn't. He would not have been exited by the round five otherwise.

I like how the way Baku is looking down on Lalo mimics the scene with Baku looking up at Kyara's corpse. They also both had thoughts about how they were beautiful before they saw death in them instead.

Ah, so it's actually Usogui here that holds a grudge, and dang you don't want him to hold a grudge on you. 😁

@doomroar
What? Baku kept his unused Air-Bios out of reach from Lalo, but left his used Air-Bios in Lalo's reach. The used ones were completely emptied, that is, he wasn't actually saving air through the match.

@Haremmony
He's the kind who won't drop a grudge no matter what, as seen during the Minotaur Labyrinth.

Which reminds me, back then Baku actively waited to solve his Labyrinth to ensure that Minowa was dealt with. Was that his way of avenging Marco, who he probably believed to be dead? If we liken that to this situation, he's doing this as payback for Kyara.

Holy shit. Usogui's trick this time was no trick at all. That's just devious and even I didn't expect it. A lot of us in the audience really got played.

I still don't completely get what Lalo's plan was after he had lost the 5th round. It seems like he wanted to see Baku die right before him, but that still required Baku to swim by. RIP my "strap yourself to the chair" plan. Couldn't even see the refs make the "delay of game" call - it should've been the only rule to allow them to judge a death without relaxation.

"Making it seem like you've accepted defeat gracefully...
and then trying to make me fall in hell with you..."
Reaching the surface
"Vincent Lalo..."
"You're a liar, aren't you?" while eating the kariume

Or something like that.
Maybe in sync with Hal for the catchphrase, to make it even more satisfying.

@Lithe

Lalo is a man who switch plan as naturally as changing TV channel (as Usogui stated in the manga) and I think his action this time is exactly that: calmly grab the opportunity when the chance shows up (agreeing Souichi invitation, going for Arata's vest, grabbing Usogui's leg). Although that characteristic isn't strictly his but also Usogui's, I can still see Lalo as 'the man' for such antics.

Usogui wins Lalo dead.

Speaking as someone who has drowned themselves once, it's going to really suck for Lalo.

I was about to complain about how much of a sore loser Lalo is but this... this is beautiful too
