I think Kirara was quite smart, he just preferred to fight over mind games. But now you mention it, it would be very nice for Marco's character arc for him to become a referee and replace Kirara, especially after getting Ying's handkerchief.

So far I'm betting on Manabe to take this all, purely because we haven't seen much from him. Also reminder that we haven't seen Manabe since the start of this mini-arc, probably doing some prep work?
