Vanilla Jingai x Jingai Yuri Anthology - Vol. 1 Ch. 6 - A Candle for the Grim Reaper

Interesting. Doesn't quite fit the anthology title, but interesting.
Their love is touching, but in a whole series I don't think I'd be able to look away from the nature of what they're taking from people as payment.

... this has sequel/prequel potential. Not sure if it could support a full serialization/season though. Very high make you cry potential though.

@Purplelibraryguy one's a death God the other is some sort of divine golem. Seems to fit the bill.

@icarushector It's appropriate for them, sort of, but normally that kind of death spirit just sort of . . . make things official. It's your time, you die, they collect you and take you where you should go--they don't actually kill people. But these people's deal is, to keep the wax girl alive they're finding people who need revenge they can't get, killing off someone who maybe deserved it, and taking 10, 20, 30 years off the life of someone who maybe didn't deserve it. So there's two possibilities: Either they're not too picky about who they do in for pay, in which case they're mass murderers the old fashioned way. Or they're very careful that every single person they're paid to get rid of was seriously asking for it, in which case they're mass murdering their relatively blameless clients--not instantly, but in a while. Each client counts as maybe half a murder on average. If a client actually had less life left than the other person, they'll die right away so it'll be a simple direct murder.
Now it does make sense for them, but in a series I just find it hard to root for mass murderers as a rule--now and then in really gonzo stuff, but not normally.

@liquidxlax chapter 6 was done independently by a different scanlation group. At the moment I’m working hard on finishing up a particularly long chapter for another manga series, and when that chapter is finished I will get right to work on 4 and 5

@Purplelibraryguy Ah, I see what you mean. She probably WAS that kind of government work death spirit before. They did leave the heavenlies after all. There is certainly a market in the revenge genre, or something akin to Deathnote, but I agree that this part of the story is not something I would enjoy either. I was thinking more the prequel, where she fell for the candle girl and then subsequent leave heaven. There is room for a good tragedy here, a good fall from grace. Mind, those are actually NOT my cup of tea but they can be good stories that I would probably never read.

also, what sort of heaven makes self aware life force disposal units? Why would you give a trashbag a heart that can be broken.

@icarushector Exactly. And it does have great tragic ingredients--here they are doing awful twisted stuff to survive because they're victims of an awful twisted heartless (heavenly) system that gives them no good options. Just, as you say, it'd be a good story that I wouldn't want to read.

This could be a bigger manga maybe like 1 shot with 40+ pages or 1-3 volume manga

I would read this much like Hellgirl which this kind of reminds me of. No matter how much a person has it coming, the ones getting revenge still live with the fact they may eventually go to hell
