Wonder why detective dude is trying to look into the caught cop's history.
Does he suspect he's the vigilante (this would be strange as detective dude probably is smart enough to understand that the cop who just panicked real hard doesn't have the quality to be the vigilante) or maybe something else im missing?
 
@YerRob He might suspect he's aiding the Vigilante. What will transpire, of course, is that he's the one who tipped the journalists about the guy who was killed by the Imilante, the lorry driver. He's gonna lose his job and there will be repercussions, I suppose.
 
Hol up. You can reduce your sentence by settling with the victim's family???? that doesn't sound very umm... ethical? or whatever the word is.

EDIT: @kendama ty forthe explanation. Would certainly explain why I've never heard of this concept.
 
@jascaicps1 It's called "blood money". It's not a thing in the West, but it's very much so in some Asian countries. You can find stories of US or NATO occupation forces in invaded countries paying blood money to settle out of court for civilians killed in war crimes.
