All this jumping around the timelines is getting confusing. Are we seeing the original future here? I thought these three weren't so close in that timeline. Or is this the changed future now...?

No this is just a flash back of the former past future, not the current future, it's just being shown to make the reader understand the characters better. The future might have changed, but the past will always be shown because of the decisions the characters are making or the topic being brought up in the story requires it to be shown, so the reader can understand the situation and decision making of the past and present.
