Although I can somewhat understand why he was the way he was, you’d think after a few years you’d grow up to atleast respect your adoptive sister. I mean it wasn’t her fault. And even if you blamed her at first Surely you would grow up and mature from that childish mindset? He’s still stuck in the past and hurting. But he doesn’t realize she’s hurting too.

I’m pretty sure that implication was that, although those weren’t Penelope’s memories (pretty much all she knows of her past is from the game and her discord now), they were probably hers from her first life.

@Shroov05 I've no real idea how to reply to comments here but I saw yours that said she was just making up the story of Penelope's past, but in the novel, if I remember correctly, it was worded to say that it wasn't Penelope's past but MC's in her original world. So she wasn't technically lying, just putting out her truth in place of Penelope's, if that makes any sense.
