People just want murder and blood and death. I don't mind at all the wholesome direction. But it's probably gonna end up like the real Vinland.

Then we get all the guts and blood between Vikings and skraelings you could wish for.

Personally, I very much enjoy the turn the story took. Thorfinn trying to find ways to avoid battles is certainly interesting to watch

Yeah, it's disappointing, but I could imagine that the author simply wrote himself into a corner. It is obvious that he has researched a whole lot about the Vikings, their culture and the historic setting they live in. It might be he didn't have the time to do the same for Slavic and Mediterranean culture of that time and didn't want to write about something he has no knowledge of.

The manga skip the entire Ottoman journey but pro-long the boring prepare stage. Just set sail to Vinland and got beaten by Native American already.

Thorfinn is so mature and grown now. He took on the best parts of Thors and Askeladd to become an aggressively charistmatic jedi.

ok, im throwing in the towel. when shit gets so bad i have to just scroll over it without skim-reading its time to quit. bit of a shame since ive been reading since ch1 but oh well, i just hope in a couple of years ill forget that farmland and onwards ever happened and will only remember the good arcs.

The butthurt does not disappoint. Well, I expected more butthurt but whatever. Note that I am also kinda hrmpfgl'd about the skip of "Slavoland" aka Kievan Rus and such, Byzantium and Greece [Slavo-Greco-Roman disappointment intensifies] and even more disappointed about the whole journy and further character development being offscreen but I trust the author.

Viking-Slav Country, Varangians (serving Byzantium), southern Slav, demi-Greek lands (I mean Byz is Greco-Roman, fight me ), Byz and more Varangians, Greece and surrounding areas, possibly other southern and eastern Countries and people, but I guess the story is or might not be about that, maybe we will get a spinoff to tell the tale journey. Oh, and there are probably Kha(ga)nates somewhere too so Mongols and Steppe tribes and such.
Yeah, Turks/Seljuks, rest of the "recently" destroyed Khazar Kha(ga)nate, Pechengs which might have succeeded them around the northern Black Sea...

In the Author's Corner Yukimura jokes about how his kids love Kimetsu no Yaiba and keep asking him to draw the characters but they never asked for him to draw Thorfinn. Poor guy

Thank you @Kiekoes for your hard work. I'm just happy to see Thorfinn happy. Sure, Vinland Saga isn't what it used to be, it has grown with its characters and that's all that matters. Some people just want blood and gore continuously, and to those people, I say "Go read Berserk"
