Not going to lie, the whole "impossible trip to vinland" is way less impressive after you find out they are in a timeline that has a flourishing Greenland. By that point, the trip to America wasn't quite the unbleivable journey the characters were acting.

I've been waiting for them to get to L'Anse aux Meadows. That site is so fascinating to me, I wish we could have spent more time there. Newfoundland is the furthest south we've found definitive proof of norse exploration. There's evidence to suggest they got as far south as virginia, but that's disputed. We're officially in full-on conjecture territory now.

Flourishing or not, the Vikings settled in Greenland around the 10th century, at least according to Wikipedia.
