@Owyn I mean, there's no easy way to make the two factions reconcile, he can only control the body and mind of one host at a time. Considering how hostile both factions are to each other, he can only choose one side or the other, so his best option is to just infect them, take their skills, and kill off one side (with the goblin side being more simpleminded and obedient, so... killing orcs it is, I guess).

@Owyn - Another way to look at it is how a virus naturally works. Why would a normal virus kill the host, when it is more beneficial to keep it alive? In this instance, the MC is honing their skill and playing with the limits of their own abilities. They could kill everyone involved if they wanted, as there is still some infected plants and the wolf left.
