There is no way nobody else chose the Summoner job, unless the game only allows one character per person (not just per account, since it could be solved by creating another account). There are many people who make multiple characters just to test multiple jobs. Or, just for kicks.

I can see why they say fire has massive drawbacks due to how destructive it is and it doesn't mention it but in the web novel they mentioned suffocating to death in closed spaces such as caves.

@welcome2atlantis While it's possible he's not the only summoner in the game, it's quite possible we won't see another one because the job sucks and the equipment isn't very good.
It's the equivalent of playing as one of the Expanded Classes in Ragnarok Online, I used to play as a Ninja and sometimes even after playing twelve hours straight seeing another Ninja was rare due to the fact that the job wasn't very good at PvE after some point, only Miniboss-like monsters dropped good equipment for the class and the class wasn't good for PvP.
