@Aldis Either she inherited the house from family, or it was just sitting there uninhabited and she just found it one day. Considering how young she seemed in the flashback from before and that she was practicing herbalism even then, it's likely the former. At the very least she grew up in it, and since her home is in the "Forest of Death" it's likely few would want to live there anyway, plus it makes a good deterrent from people that want to hunt her kind.
