That's a smart and good friend right there ... treat the man to something good.
Also, in that situation ... with the angle ... is just ... IDK ... kinda tropey. In my version of the story my character would just move to get a better view of what was going on to confirm for himself. But since I'm just along for the ride ... let's see where this goes. If they actually have a conversation about what he saw and not dance around the topic then we can have an actual resolution. But we gotta drag the story out and have some drama so ... yeah.

Best advice if i ever. I wish there were characters like him in other shoujo manga... Or in real life
