Typical Russian propaganda. Imagine if this had been about axis forces locking up members of civilian support units to stop them from deserting, or pillaging civilian workshops. Pretty sure it'd have been depicted completely different.

The book was very good and sad. I understand that people may not think it's factual or that it is propaganda, but you have to remember... these are stories from an individual. These are their stories, do not lump them based on their country or politics. Read with your heart and do not belittle their lives. It is the least we can do for living in such fortunate times.
