Always check the museum's online collection before you go there, so you know if it's an art museum or an "art" museum.
And that includes different wings of the same museum. Sometimes one room has an intricate Baroque sculpture, and the next has a lumpy clay mass that looks vaguely like a human organ, decorated with the artist's own hair.
I wish I'd seen JK no Mudazukai before running into that one, now that I mention it. I'd have gotten more of a laugh out of it.
