When I think about how Amase Shiori is only a bit younger than I am, this makes me sad. And people call this manga shallow. :[

Yeah, depression is not something you can easily ignore like that.

I was in the same position for a year after losing someone very very close.

I don't think I've ever seen an author be so candid and honest about their work and inspiration, it's refreshing.

Yeah, I found chapter 2 somewhat strange since it's the first time I heard someone suicidal strong in their own way. This really puts things in perspective. I really appreciate what the author has done with the work, and surely her aunt's memory lives on in the manga. Even though in the end she lost against depression I have nothing but awe and respect for her for fighting it on her own till the very end.

I hope in some way, the words the author’s aunt wanted to hear, will be read by those who desperately need it. And in turn, be saved by it.

I'm usually a stickler about which words are used in translations, but this is one time the "not quite the right word" worked perfectly. It comes across more as a real conversation between the two of us, and English not being the native language. I'm more lax with my friends that are ESL. Family members that speak it as their ONLY language: watch out! The translation on this was done perfectly to convey the ESL aspect: not perfect English, but personal English.

It was a touching story of how Shiori came about writing this excellent manga< and shows an excellent story telling ability far beyond my own.
