I'm a bit confused with the pronoun usage. Does Kei like being called a "he"? The mom started off calling Kei a "she" and then switched to "he".

I'll just refer to kei as they/them for now. I don't feel right referring to them as a guy when they said that they gave up being one.

If a kei was a girl, and dressed in masculine clothes instead, you'd make the argument that he was a trans man with "boku".
