Actually virus are very specialized and they rarely cross species, granted elves might be close enough but because she comes from a another world its likely no Earth virus would affect her just like anything she might carry would not affect humans.

@Exile Not necessarily true. A virus is specific to a point, but there are viruses that have been known to be multi-species in what they can infect. So, it is entirely possible that an elf could be just as susceptible (or less) to a certain virus as a human. Or, in a worse-case scenario, a virus that normally is fairly "harmless" ( like the common cold, despite how annoying it is), could actually be deadly.

@aFFi I feel like most countries are like that to some extent. One reason why it may seem like this is because we simply consume lots of Japanese content and because manga is a very quick to read. It's also probably due to there being tons of Japanese people creating stories in the form of anime, manga and light novels.
