@Notesha Because it is how Asian dads are in real-life. My uncle has been wanting to kick my cousin's boyfriend out of the house several times. Maybe Western dads are different. I found this trope funny though.

Difference between Asian dad and American dad

Asian Dad: Wants to kick the boyfriend of the child out
American Dad: Wants to kick the child out and turn the child's bedroom into a workout room

Supposedly, it's normal for American parents to kick their child out once they reach 18. Ai-chan asked if a certain quora question was true and apparently, it's quite normal for parents to kick their own children when they reach 18 there.
