But also, killing everyone in the family at the same time and only you surviving to succeed it might warranty too much investigation...
Killing two people but leaving the successor would be suspicious, but still wouldn't make much sense if you don't get anything out of it.
Then later it just might happen that the successor is not actually blood related! Oh no, woe is me to find such tragedy in the family... *kicks child*
