Whispering You a Love Song - Vol. 2 Ch. 10 - Progress, Impatience, and a Silent Determination

And there I was thinking Aki was being super nice even though she must be feeling really unwell knowing Yori doesn't reciprocate her feeling and knowing that she was too late and that she had a chance. But now that I think about it, this is a really nice way to speed things up, and Aki's literally doing this for Yori's sake as always. She's such a good person somehow.

OH SNAP. Honestly, I really wouldn't mind if Aki and Yori ended up together. Aki's been such a good friend all this time supporting Yori, and she's even being a friendly "rival" to Himari. Similarly, I wouldn't mind if Himari and Momoka ended up together. I feel like with this manga, I like all the characters so much that I wouldn't mind whomever the MCs ended up with.

"Make some progress you useless lesbian or I'm taking her for myself.'

@Jmann I don't really know, but this just seems like one of those "ok now I have to solve this fast" situations that USUALLY go with the axe... who knows.

@xrailee Why? She's likely doing this for Yori's sake by giving Himari an actual sense of urgency in getting her shit together and making a choice instead of stringing Yori along indefinitely because she'll never push her for a concrete answer herself. It definitely reads as her intentionally playing the part of the love rival that forces the dense protag to realize their feelings.

I don't think Aki is actually in love with Yori but I also don't think this is the way to go about it if she's trying to make Himari confront her feelings.

Aki's given up on Yori before this manga even started, so she's definitely doing this just to push Himari along. Being strung along isn't a pleasant feeling, and Yori clearly can't handle it as well as Himari thinks she can. Aki's ultimately breaking her heart for Yori and ughh take care of yourself girl!!

I don't think Aki is actually in love with Yori

Except her whole attitude scream she is in love with Yori. In the extra of Vol.1 she said that she believe in love at first, then showing her spotting Yori singing. It mean she fell in love at first sight with Yori but decide for some reason to not confess then we all know what happen. She is in love but since she know Yori will not back down of Himari, she decide against her own feelings to support Yori. Now she is just pissed off that her unrequited crush is feeling down because of Himari who can't figure their feelings.

Aki is definitely in love with Yori, and she's doing this to push Himari into a decision. I think she realizes that there's a very low chance of this working out in her favor (Himari has to give up which is unlikely and Yori has to fall for Aki which is unlikely), so she's -mostly- doing it to help Yori out of a rough situation for her. I don't think it's done purely or even mostly out of spite or anger (though there's probably a little of that in there - feelings are messy).

This manga's relationship gives me mixed feelings, too. It's good they're being honest with their feelings here, and this does mirror real-life relationships way closer than most manga. Himari's reaction is a common reaction you would expect from somebody who has been previously straight but is really into somebody as a close friend. The problem is that it is also essentially stringing somebody along when the end result may be not having a relationship at all, even though Himari isn't intending that (and does appear to be somewhat falling in love with Yori).

I love just how fast things ramped up, the wait for the next chapter will be my end.
