@Nightlilygirl- @IJustMadeThisToComment The box says Toraya. It's a traditional Japanese confection maker dating back to the 16th century. The brown stuff may likely be yokan, a red bean paste jelly.

As a person with a cockatiel, I can attest that if they aren't drawing blood, it's probably a friendly nibble. And Pippi is just preening his owner's hair in panel two; that's a bonding behavior.
 
Well unless you abuse them most pets will like you in some way because you are the only person they know...
