Light novels don't have any editors, so there's no such feedback, and the manga adaptation can't really change any big things, so when the original author decides to write in ridiculous things, they are there to stay.

@Kaarme - light novels do have editors. There are a few of them in anime too, like the one in OreImo. I don't know how good they are, because I don't speak Japanese, and most of their work gets lost in translation.
It's web novels that are a one-person effort.

@Drifter - The way I see it, professional maids get to stay at their first place of employment. When you're hiring new staff, they're either newbies, or problematic people who got fired from their previous workplace.
Well, if you have good friends who already have servants, they can recommend you some of their good servants to be your senior staff.
