Imagine actually thinking you have any type of ownership over something just because you pirate it and then share your translation of it with other people.
Imagine begging for money to buy raws, that cost less than $10, of something that you supposedly enjoy yourself.
Imagine actually defending the actions of someone that does all that.
The funniest thing about all of this is that the ONLY reason groups ever get mad about 'sniping' is because they lose donation money when someone else starts TLing faster than them.
These are the people who justify piracy by saying they are helping to spread the work to western fans while being so fucking cheap that they will not even buy raws with their own money

@uniquerandomusername at the same time tho, imagine pointing out something illegal while you yourself are doing illegal shit. And no the fact that is less illegal than getting money doesn't make it better, scanlation isn't in a legal grey area as some want to believe so I don't really get this whole thing
In reality WE are being assholes and breaking the law and even if some pretend to have ethic the sole fact of us being part of this thing is wrong which robs us of the chance to act righteous without coming of as hypocrites that lack awareness of our actions

Not sure if you didn't understand my post or just a sucking up to scanlators, but let's pretend for a second that you're not just arguing in bad faith.
My post is not about piracy. Arguing about piracy on a site like this it completely and utterly pointless. @uniquerandomusername my comment was about hypocrisy too tho so was it not in topic, or is that you just read the first part?, I said we all are being hypocrites when trying to take moral a stance on a inherently immoral situation so not really sucking up to anyone.
Go back, I didn't refute anything of what you said, did I? Instead I started with a "at the same time" meaning there are two side's here, both rest on the premise of something being wrong, it's wrong to ask for money when you own nothing about the thing you're aming to receive money from, also even if you aren't asking for money the distribution of something you don't own whitout permission is wrong, there is lesser evil here but at the end they are two are evils

Hypocrisy only applies if one pretends to be morally superior or follow moral standards they do not. Calling someone out for being a hypocrite for doing X, while said person is chastising others for doing X, which does include the person doing the calling out, does not make the person doing the calling out a hypocrite; Thief A calling Thief B a thief isn't hypocrisy. Thief B saying stealing is wrong is hypocrisy. Thief A calling Thief B a hypocrite isn't hypocrisy. The person doing the calling out isn't saying X is wrong, but being a hypocrite is wrong, and virtue signalling, for lack of a better term, is wrong. That greed as a motivator, and the arrogance to lay claim to something you don't own is wrong.
Your entire argument sophistry. You're incorrectly labeling him and the other users hypocrites, and you're using a generic appeal to hypocrisy, which is doubly incorrect since nothing he said is hypocritical. I think he's wrong in saying your arguing on bad faith, or at least implying it. You just don't know whats going on. I also don't think, rather know, considering your usage of the word, you know what the definition of the word hypocrite.
