Are taxis in Tokyo that crazy expensive? I mean, taxis ripping you off is a worldwide thing but three days of work to pay a taxi fee seems like a lot unless she is paying them pennies for each day.

@Acolytus They live in Aichi prefecture, so I'm gonna assume they're going to Kasugai (where they seem to live) from Sakae station or around there, which is like 45 minutes by train. I wouldn't be surprised if it cost them about 50 bucks.

Days of work for paying off a 50$ cab fare, split between 2 people, is a scam for "free" labor. If 2 people cant each make 25$ working part time in a full work day, then something ain't right.

If they got almost 0 businees, then I can see it. But not likely. Last minute haircuts are a big thing. Its why they are in many airports.

Anyway - I'm shocked about taxi cost. I mean, if you assume they gonna work until new year, it's like 5 days, I assume, with ~800 yen (like minimum payment) per hour x 2 x 8hour a day = 64k yen - where the hell they were and where are they live?
I know that the numbers pulled from air, but anyway - it freakin a lot. And - Seto was sure that he can pay. So - it cant be that much. My guess - mom gonna take him into slavery just for free.

@ShimizuA first time hearing this. Overtime pays after 40 hours a week and has its limit. If you were right than nobody would work before 20.00 just to get more money. That doesnt work this way, man.

Bruh that page 17 spread is awesome (awesome redraws too !) i melted right there. Also regarding the taxi fare, taxi's are extremely expensive in Japan, especially at night. i wouldn't be surprised it cost like 200$ to get them home (since they're like 1h away by train)

@Acolytus Fortunately they can't rip off my parents since they have worked in a restaurant that also made takeaways. They would usually give the destination to the driver and immediately request to follow a detailed route avoiding any detours or traffic.

I heard it from official video guide for culture exchange when I visited the Japanese embassy for study trip. The video was quite dated thou, So I don't know if it still hold true.

And yeah, I remember the clock wrong. overtime start at 22.00, 20% rates increase. 30% from 23.00 to 5.00.
