This is my first time reading this, so perhaps I may be in for a surprise down the line, but Mayami's character is starting to get stale and/or irritating.
She gets a pass while other annoyances are rightfully mocked, as if it were supposed to be endearing... though it really isn't, IMO. There's also her keen insight: I know this is comedy and all, but gags and more serious matters are clearly different in presentation; she really couldn't have deduced Hijiri's budding infatuation with Shiratori from this alone, and at any rate not with such confidence.
In a manga like this where everyone has their own “weakness(es)” she ends up standing out. Here's hoping her implied romantic interest here will have he character develop in more interesting ways.

Well, im reading both versions at the same time, so im not sure if that makes a difference. I felt the same at the beginning, that there was no way mayami couls have guessed hijiri likes him, but if you take it a little back, hijiri has always put some kind of interest in him, and this is the first time she acts like that, so if there was anyone a little bit conscious of the situation the sole act of her acting different just after he said her first name is an indicator that she likes him, remember saying the first name of someone in jp isnt that normal and only really close friends and family uses them. So of course, if she had an idea of hijiri having something for him, she would just look for her reaction after he said her first name to get to the conclusion that she likes him
