There's resolving issues quickly, and then there's "everybody forgot what happened a chapter ago and acts like there was no issue to begin with". With the girl trying to frame MC for stealing underwear, there was was no harm done and characters actually talked it out. Here, a character put MC in chokehold while calling him a manslut and telling him to not get close to Kuzuhana without explaining why. But it's fine because next chapter Kuzuhana talked about her past completely unrelated to this new girl (while making her look like a protagonist for an 80's B movie about martial arts), which somehow makes her actions justified even though it has nothing to do with how this new girl explained her aggression (she didn't). This isn't a joke arc, this is taken completely seriously.
The author is either really bad at writing, or pulled a quick 180 with the direction of this new arc for whatever reason.
