Yankee-kun to Hakujou Gaaru - Ch. 11 - Self

He really said 'society' huh.

All in all, even if it was treated in a comedic manner, it raises some pretty important topics.

I really like how this series raises everyday issues without resolving them with feelgood wishful thinking. It's certainty more realistic than my local Nextdoor.com board! 🌐🌐🌐

I too appreciate the natural "this is why all this sucks for blind people" stuff in here, but...

The specifics being called out in this episode seem very strange to me. Logically, wouldn't the sign be totally missed by the fully-blind anyway? At which-point one would call out for a worker, who could take one through the checkout as if it weren't self-checkout? Possible everyday-awkward conversation there, admittedly, but, I don't see how this shop is particularly any worse-designed for a blind person than, at worst, a classic understaffed shop with a "ring bell for service" sign. I just can't see how technological progression is the key problem here. (In other places, yes, but not here.)

Am I missing something?
