[ul][*]Well, he did pop up at a spirit hot spot. And he fricking loooooooves it there, as much as the spirits do.[*]He is different from other humans by not possessing any mana. (Do spirits themselves possess mana or do they need the mana of a contracted partner?)[*]Did he actually form contracts with spirits? We did see fist bumbs of friendship and the princess thought of them as contracts being formed, but as the MC doesn't possess any mana, are we sure that's the case?[*]We just saw a great spirit and he doesn't look cute or awesome at all. He even doesn't resemble the normal spirits. (Cloak, hoody, etc.) So as great spirits might look like anything, the MC might as well be one.[/ul]

Of all the people to behave like that, you'd think he would understand better than anyone not to judge by appearances. On the other hand I guess he never had any reason to believe that the spirits could look so drastically different, and he was fairly confident normal people couldn't follow him there, so being wary at least makes sense.
