The black rock is a spirit who has depleted all its mana. They're in a hibernation state and slowly accumulating mana to return back to their original form. That's why touching it is dangerous for people of that world since they're effectively sacrificing their mana to restore a spirit.

- Find out the exact purpose of the Spirit Liberation Squad

While not FULLY revealed yet, their aim is to save the spirits who are still in a hibernation state since some of the almost restored rocks (which are beautiful) since they are turned into jewelty. They also want to regulate contracts to certain people, effectively controlling the spirits as well. They oppose the kingdom's way of doing things and want to overthrow them, making them neither good nor evil.

- The mana of this world is in disarray

Spirits turn into black rocks to hibernate and restore their mana very slowly over time. When they are about ready, the rocks turn into a beautiful rock and are safe to touch for anyone. However, people don't understand this and turn the rocks into jewelry, effectively killing the spirit, causing the mana overall to be in chaos since spirits ARE mana.

- The chibis are in danger

The spirits are being killed off unknowingly by the humans. When they turn into a black rock, they accumulate mana. But when the rock is shining and safe to touch, most humans don't realize it's a recovering spirit and turn into necklace, earrings, or some other form of jewelry, killing them.

- There is something more about me

Zero is the Great Spirit of Darkness. He and the Great Spirit of Light he meets later on are the two who are destined to help determine the fate of the world, but they are at odds with their motivations. Zero still needs to offer his 4 blessings at the altar to meet God so he can determine once and for all what he must do.
