My guess, though unfounded, is that some people might see him contracting all of the spirits as him amassing power enough to overthrow the royal family and gain legitimacy by marrying Gusukou

In all likelihood, there should be someone near the royal family that is sensitive to such things like a court mage or members of the royal family itself. . . But then again, I'm only speculating

@agshield I like this line of thought but it could also be someone close to the king implanting other "ideas" about this new fellow who showed up and disappeared with the princess, maybe even someone connected to the evil group who hate the spiritbois (I forgot the name of the evil group).
