@Kuroww It's an interesting idea, and it's definitely helped by the notion that because they don't continue to age it's likely their brains won't deteriorate, but I dunno that vampires could become walking encyclopedias very easily. There are books I read in the past (whether it be 10 years or 5 or whenever) that even if I remember "I read that one before," it's not like I can recite every word. It's possible you could work to improve your memory with the amount of time an immortal lifespan provides if you really wanted to become some kind of legendary mountain sage, but most information leaves pretty quick if you don't need it or refresh it by testing yourself and stuff. And that's assuming you're vampirifying the most scholarly, focused human you can find. I don't think most of the people falling for high school gyaru vampire are committed lifelong learners lol.

Hell, as an example, I was studying networking and like IP subnetting shit as recently as 2016-2017, but once I dropped out stopped needing it and bothering to remember it, it pretty much flew outta my head right away.

Anyway I have been thinking about what would actually change for him as a vampire. Aside from the super strength and stuff her life isn't much different from a humans. She does do work with the massages, because she wants money to spend. And unless he wants to either take money from his seduction targets or use his abilities to become a supernatural criminal, he will need work too and his options aren't much different as a vampire than as a human.

He would have to spend time getting targets to let him drink their blood and yeah that is different than what he would do as human but unless you have the right character I don't think it is particularly fun just a necessary task.

Being a vampire probably forces you to not live an entirely ordinary live but if you wanted you could live an unusual live as human too. Though on the other hand the costs in this setting aren't great either and you do get a long life and some abilities. Hunger seems relatively weak if holding out for 10 ears isn't super unusual (if starvation didn't kill us how many humans could live with it for 10 years?). Blood drinking itself seems to not do any more harm than blood donations (beyond other vamps wanting to kill the person because they know too much). But you probably have to separate yourself from your normal environment and your family if you want to keep it a secret.

Is Kou forgetting or not aware that he will die unless he becomes a vampire?

Also, I feel like Nazuna was genuinely hurt by him not wanting to become her underling. She says the past ten years have been boring, but she can't lie, the nights that she has spent with Kou have been enjoyable.

Now I'm interested in her backstory, and who she fell in love with that turned her. He or she is probably the reason why she has such an aversion to loving someone.

And Kou doesn't think that he and Nazuna aren't friends? How stunted is this kid? They aren't lovers or anything despite the sensual nature of the blood sucking ritual but how can he think that they aren't friends at this point?
