Yondome wa Iya na Shizokusei Majutsushi - Vol. 2 Ch. 10

Wow this manga's chapter is just thicc, like 乇 乂 ㄒ 尺 卂 ㄒ 卄 丨 匚 匚 , love it. Thanks mangasushi.

Casually descending a dungeon in a carriage with your mother sleeping in the palm of your hands

On page 22 there is a contradiction between the different kingdoms and their religion. The way it's been translated seems that both kingdoms have the same religion, but instead they should have different religions, otherwise the idea that they're enemies becomes contradictory. On page 25 the map has a labeling error that doesn't seem match their travel plans. The label shows that they're traveling out of the kingdom they want to go to.

@Nk9bjP4A both country's have aldas religion, but in the orbaume kingdom it is allowed to belive in vida, also some of vidas species aren't treated as monsters.

@Invader_Retro I don't think I can help you.

First, I am not a translator. I am just a man who loves to read both the manga and the LN of Death Mage. I can only talk about what differences I see between both of the translated versions.

Second, I don't think you are wrong with that being Rank. In the LN Van used the term Rank in that scene so it makes since that Rank is also used in this manga scene. The difference I see is that the Manga seems like Van is talking about himself while in the LN Van is talking about his undead companions.

I see many grudges converging towards MC. This one may become something like evil incarnate or fallen demigod in the future.
I think I'm going to check the novel.

41 pages??? Oh gosh, that's better than a girlfriend

Besides, who's that old man in the page 1?

@macarroiz I think that's Sam, the ghost possessing the carriage. His ears are unusually pointed though.

@ScrotalLingerie It makes more sense if you take the japanese katakana into the context. Va-Re-Nu (Varen) and Da-Ru-Shi-A (Darcia) becomes Va-Nu-Da-Ru (Vandalieu). The Darcia part might be a bit wrong on my part but you get my point.

I think the translation mixed the names for the empires and gods. P22: they say they'll go to Orbaune whose religion is Alda, to flee Alda believers. P26: Orbaune and Amid are on the same side of the map.

@Ovnidemon - yeah, Mirg shield-nation should be the point inside Amid Empire, and the other side of the hammer should be Orbaume Kingdom.
@Invader_Retro - later in the LN, they explain the way becoming stronger works in Lambda:
Original inhabitants of Lambda can take "jobs", and gain "levels" in them (100 levels per job). 3 jobs makes a competent adventurer, 5 jobs makes an elite knight.
Monsters have a knock-off of that system where they can get "ranks", each rank about as good as a completed job. For monsters, increasing rank changes their race name (to something like "goblin archer" or "ultimate god-slaying bone horror"), and their appearance.
Some races have access to both at the same time, allowing them to progress about twice as fast. Because they're descendants of monsters and more wholesome beings (like Vida).
This is not synonymous with "Vida's races", as Dark Elves (descendants of elves and Vida) are a Vida's race but they aren't descendants of monsters, and so they level up like ordinary humans and elves (but are a little stronger from the start). There should be other Vida's races like that too, but I don't remember which ones.
