Oh yeah, she's a nutcase, whatever her past is like, that doesn't giver her the right to tell someone else how to live theirs.
Offer advice or even warning yes, but hijack someone's way of life and values no, if it wasn't for her knowledge/experience
with the fusion stuff I'd say kick her ass out of his life.
