on rereading this, I've realized just how much this resembles the struggle people in the west have during x-mas:
first, you gotta buy presents for all relatives and friends (+ figure out who doesn't need them since you agreed not to exchange them)
plus: organize secret santa (and try not to buy the same stuff as last year)
second, if you're married you have to negotiate when to celebrate with both families (my sister has a huge problem with this each year, somehow both families think that the 24th is better)
third, over-eating

Yugami is right, why would we do that.
