Yugami-kun ni wa Tomodachi ga Inai - Vol. 9 Ch. 46 - Yugami-kun and the Send Off Match

Time to see what Yugami thinks of this situation. My money is on him not giving a shit.

Takeaways…

a) Chihiro still can't catch a break.

b) Yugami reached his perfect form.

holy crap a misunderstanding that's cleanly resolved by characters simply talking it out. dunno why that feels so rare but oh well

Was expect the blonde guy think she just shy and try to hide it instead of believe it. Given how many time he saw them together.
And Yugami seem actually shock. Who know what could happen. She is the only one that ever make him show something after all.

@enigmator
This manga handles it very well. The misunderstanding is resolved in a sensible manner, but it's been passed onto another character already, so we get some extra comedic mileage out of it.

I think Yugami is a very Ayn Rand-esque character, and the comic did a great job showing how such a character can be realistic and fun without turning into a power fantasy. While he's absolutely honest and completely dedicated himself to what he cares about, the same personality trait and world view makes him a massive pain in the ass, ending up with effectively zero friends and not even admirers despite being the ace of the baseball club, good looking and talented. To everyone he's just an asshole but upon closer inspection, we can see his merit as a person, hence the ultra conformist becoming independent through her interaction with him. This is great writing of such an archetype, the best I have seen in comics, much better than the award winning Hibiki at least.

I love the fact that Yugami would rather go all-out even if it's for a send off match. On the other hand, I want the dating misunderstandings to last longer and that is something I'd never thought I'd say in any manga.

@duylinh Hibiki from what manga?

Wait wait... Why do I smell great comedy from Kao x Yugami in the near future? Will there be another misunderstanding from them?

Fuck that guy... Now i want to see he never get out of his house when he discover that she won't change to america... ¬¬
