Must admit, author is trying is best to give a reason to exist to this arc despite being here only to attract loli lovers.

You know this weird feeling you get, from the story's tension, yet counteracted by the knowledge that there actually is no crisis, as the manga wouldn't just end. This is not the kind of story where they can be defeated, so it's obvious they're going to somehow beat Nagare or remove the spell.
