They never went anywhere serious with the Yuri but I don't think it made it any lesser for not having Yuri. In fact, I might say it was good that they didn't go into Yuri (better focus on lewd non-serious comedy over focus on Yuri romance pandering)

Nothing against Yuri, I just think this manga worked great without Yuri romance.
