Yuukyuu no Gusha Asley no, Kenja no Susume - Vol. 1 Ch. 6

The MC's fear of apathy is ridiculous, at least from the presentation point of view.
Throughout the entire story, he has been really expressive and sympathetic towards other people. His moments of angst are really out of place.

@Solipsist As someone who can identify with his mindset i have to disagree. There are times when i feel cold and indifferent to the world even as im helping people and caring for them. Its a feeling of isolation or lacking that makes you wonder if others have such strong emotions unlike you.

It may be unfounded or misguided but the inner workings of a person are often silly from an outsiders point of view. I mean think of all the pretty people who think they are ugly. People have issues. This is natural.

@Merilirem
Yet, the idea of "not being beautiful enough" is not that hard to understand.
In this context, the fear of "not being expressive enough" while the manga shows us that he is fully expressive and has absolutely no problem to communicate with others, only shows that the idea is not fully communicated. Even if you say that you can sympathize, you should also see how it stabs itself in the foot. Especially since it's isekai, so it's being lazy about most things.

@Solipsist You seem to be misunderstanding by your use of "expressive". This is not about him expressing emotions its about him feeling them. Communication and expressions are not the same as feelings. You can have expressions and communicate things without really feelings them. I mean you see people every day doing just that. Just look at any host of some cheezy morning show. They use expressions and talk a lot but that doesn't mean its sincere.

His concern has more to do with his inner self which means seeing his outer self as fine has nothing to do with it. People with inner pain often put on smiles after all. The disconnect between the inner and outer is what is shown here, not that he can't talk and make faces. This isn't a Kuudere situation. This is the opposite.

@Merilirem
I'm not saying you're wrong, I can even agree with what you say. But what I was talking about, was that the execution of the idea was problematic, not the idea itself.
From my POV, the MC was shown to be genuinely caring about people, and then he goes off to wonder if he "actually really cares about others". Even if that happens to people, I'm sure there were better ways to write that idea on paper.

In before those two girls surpass the archmages. They're only 350 years behind the 5000 year old hermit, after all.

GOBLINS!?

Wait, I think I'm confused. How did the goblins get into the plaza?
Also, why do they need warriors in the watch tower? You'd need focus to stay on guard duty all day, but civilians can do it, right?

@GerryCerryBery It simply means that it was 100% before him, as no one else who met the minimum requirements to even try the test had ever failed it before. It was practically just a formality, and then he showed up and bungled it somehow.

I hope there’s Romance with Mana or Reina. She was dam cute and cool here. Though I don’t think it’s a swordfight.. more like a brawl...
I still don’t know whose the main heroine... please not that little girl.
