@Psychronia Not necessarily. Humans receiving faith and actually getting anything out of it might not be part of the system. Asley and Pochi had some vague ideas about what sort of things might have some bearing on his fool title, but they weren't really sure how it worked. Gaining power from others' faith is probably part of the actual godhood deal, so people would probably have to at least get their foot in the door like Asley seems to have done by earning that hermit candidate title. If anything, I figure praying to someone without those qualifications could give them something like a false idol sort of title I suppose?

i hope it wasn't planed like in other novels, where demons tricked humans into 'slowing down'.
i hope humans got too complacent with time and forgot the issues with ignoring the god that saved them before.
be aware, that this isn't like atheism here. they had concrete prove of 'god' existence, even if it wasn't their creators, or they were humans before, such 'god' had saved them before and given them directly measurable blessings.
it is interesting story for sure. hope the author makes the flow alright.
