@Robbini Nah, his father said he is his heir, so he must be the oldest/only one. But while i wouldnt say it is no way it is certainly way more likely that he would be berothed to a dukes or even kings daughter, but at least a marquis or earls. Still, could happen that, if the emperor has to decide the engagment like it seems, its done like this to keep a power balance Or its a "powerful" baron in the duchy and the most important vassal. something like that.

If they don't elaborate as to why this guy deserved to re-incarnate as a god and just hand wave it away, this is *terrible* writing. Starting a story with "He's a good person" then just showing him act like a milquetoast nice guy that doesn't really go out of his way to do good, just does the not-a-dick thing whenever the opportunity falls into his lap... Which given how most Anime & manga protagonists act, is probably how he is going to act. "Oh no, a bad thing is happening to a person right in front of me! I should do something!" *makes no effort to combat the systemic issues causing that bad thing from happening* EG: Treating slave nicely that they saw being abused, not working to abolish or reform the slavery system perpetuating a vile industry built on human suffering.
