But I've seen that action of flicking one's forehead in many gag anime/manga. The only ones I can remember are I think in Gintama I guess.

Yea agree with Allexio, Shinra's involvement here is very forced. Shouldn't the culprit uncover it himself for him to uncover it, or at least the father should've directed him to Shinra, so that puzzle could be solved
