@kur0g4m1 Yup. In the LN translations (by whom they were made, I forget), they correctly use "composite" for the X-bow in reference to the different materials the bow is made out of. Of course, if you don't know the meanings of the words (like myself, in years past) it's an easy mistake to make...

I must say, I think the pacing of the Novel feels a lot better. After starting to read the manga again... Well, it feels quite rushed. I much prefer the way the book does crafting scenes, for example. Ah well, I guess it's a drawback of the medium.

@mirp448 Because this is actually a yakuza film under with a school setting vignette. They don't say this, but the main characters are all insane and think they're in a school, when really they're working as sleeper agents for the SDF. The teachers are actually government officials and SDF...

I don't know much about smithing, but do they really use a square mallet? I think the forge in my high school had both square and round mallets (don't ask, but nobody used it). Side note, does his mallet look a bit like Thor's Hammer? Was the lightning earlier foreshadowing?
