@phosphylite I read a few, and it usually always ends up with the girl. It is kinda said because while you know it's probably the "realistic" approach in Japan, the guy should have a chance to actually succeed, too. Maybe this story will be different, who knows. I like the male contender and he seems like a guy with a lot of personality with how his love initially started. He also seems to take a lot of care for the ML as he visited him during such a dark moment in the year. The girl so far seems bleak in that he is "her hero" and he "actually likes something of me" in regards to her handwriting. I'll follow it until I feel it'll end up like the rest of them.
did you notice that Umeko's interest in Matesuki started when he helped Take? I'm shipping the Umeko x Take platonic friendship. Though so far we've literally only been told they are friends (though it's implied she has been helping manage his chronic condition for years) and haven't seen much of it so it's not my actual prediction of how this turns out lol. And boy-girl platonic friendships are never a good bet in manga.
I know that Take's pretty mean to Umeko, but page 15 had me in stiches because that level of inexplicable rage is so sibling-specific. I relate so hard
