If you ever met guy that pushy and not considering the other party, then there's a chance they're an ass or the relationship won't even hold more than few months assuming it do go without one clinging too much almost like a trophy not a human being.

It's an impressive choice to have the main character be at once a comfortable loner, highly socially competent, and still was bullied in the past because -- the flashback hints -- her sense of justice presumably got in the way of some dysfunctional dynamic. Sounds contradictory, but I imagine happens a lot more than you think.
